Traveling Guide to Peru

If Peru isn’t the most popular country for backpackers in South America it is certainly very close. The high number of historic attractions, stunning natural nature landmarks and beautiful cities means it has something for every type of traveller. Popular cities to visit in Peru includes Lima, Cuzco, Arequipa, Puno and Puerto Maldonado.

Outdoor lovers will find Peru to be a place of dreams. The large amount of hikes, surfing opportunities, wildlife and ancient ruins found throughout the country is incredible. Famous hikes in Peru include the Inka trail of Machu Picchu, the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu, Colca Canyon Trek, Santa Cruz Trek, Laguna 69 day hike, Rainbow Mountain hike, Huayhuash 10 day trek and many more.

Spending a few nights immersed in the Amazon Jungle is also something that most people visiting Peru would like to do. The city Puerto Maldonado is one of the best locations to access the Jungle and the chances of spotting Peru wildlife such as Tapir, Macaw, Capybara, White Lipped Peccary and various monkey species are high.
