Traveling Guide to Argentina
Argentina is one of the most modern countries in South America and a great location to either start or finish a budget backpacking trip across the continent. It is a large country with plenty of adventure activities. Things to do in Argentina include hiking, drinking wine, visiting Iguazu Falls, partying and dancing the tango until the early hours of the morning.
Arguably the most beautiful location found in Argentina is the southern region known as Patagonia. You can find plenty of natural landmarks and beautiful places including Perito Moreno Glacier, Mount Fitzroy and the southernmost point in South America, Ushuaia.
The capital city of Argentina is Buenos Aires. It is a large city that is full of life and fun. Watching a La Boca football match, roaming the Recoleta Cemetery, eating amazing steak, viewing a tango dance show and tapping your feet to the La Bomba de Tiempo drum show are some of the best things to do throughout Buenos Aires.
Other popular cities to visit in Argentina include Salta, Mendoza, El Calafate and Bariloche. You can complete some amazing road trips in the north of Argentina and visit famous areas such as Las Salinas Grandes, the wine area of Cafayate and visit Purmamarca and the 7-coloured hill. In the south, you can hike to the peak of Mount Fitzroy or go snow skiing on the slopes at Bariloche while in the middle of the country it’s all about sampling various Mendoza wines and relaxing by the Andes Mountain range.
