If you are looking to plan a perfect summer getaway in the next few months, a great choice and proving to be one of the most popular destinations in Australia could be Perth. Australia is a stunning country with amazing people, beautiful landscapes and incredible wildlife: and it makes for a perfect summer trip this year. Or maybe I’m just a travel blogger in Australia that is being a little biased? Let me know in the comments section below.
One particular part of Australia which you should definitely make time to visit is Perth found in Western Australia, and today we are going to read through some of the best Perth holiday destinations you should see while visiting this year. The city is literally full of relaxed and easy to visit places so I hope this travel advice is helpful and ensures you get to visit all the pretty places in Perth while your there.

Kings Park and Botanic Garden
For your trip to Perth, you can hire car rental near Perth airport and head to some of the sights with ease. Kings Park is a beautiful place to visit for anyone who loves to get away from the city and you’ll be able to enjoy some lovely scenery here. The view of Swan River is amazing and this 1000 acre park is filled with natural Bush landscapes which house many native plants as well as animals.

Swan River
Swan River is a large river which flows through the area and it is a hugely popular place for locals and tourists. It is the perfect spot for a sunny picnic and you’ll also be able to enjoy some amazing trails, go for a swim or a boat ride, or simply sunbathe and enjoy the view. It is a wonderful place to be and somewhere which will make you never want to leave.
Cottesloe Beach
We all know that Australia has some of the most amazing beaches in the world, and Perth proved this right with Cottesloe Beach. This beach is home to clear blue waters and white sands and is the ideal place to visit for a sunny day out with the family. You could decide to spend the day camped out on the sand, go for a surf, or head out in a boat for a ride. One of the pretty places in Perth not to be ignored.

The Perth Mint
If you have always been intrigued by the process of making coins, this tourist destination is a great choice for you and you’ll be able to see some of the histories behind making money first hand. The gold exhibition will show you the world’s largest coin which ways a tonne, and you’ll be able to see many gold nuggets and bars too. It is a place which is super popular with families and you’ll be able to learn more about the discovery of gold in the state.
Perth Zoo
Everyone loves a good trip to the zoo, and it is the only place you will be able to see some of the world’s most amazing creatures and experience what it is like to walk in their presence. Perth Zoo is around 3km away from the city and it is full of native and exotic species. There are koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, dingos, Tasmanian devils and many more species to enjoy. If you want to you can even feed giraffes during your visit and get up close and personal!

There are 5 tourist spots in Perth I would highly recommend to visit while you are in the city. Organise Your Trip: Travel Advice and Tricks I Personally Use
Book Your Flight
Heading to either Skyscanner or Momondo are my methods of choice for this. They are my favourite as they search for flights from different companies all over the world. You can filter the results to suit your needs and ensure you land the best price every-time.
Book Your Accommodation
This is an important part of any holiday you’re going on. Read all the reviews and get the right accommodation via TripAdvisor. They even show you the best prices available at the time for that room from suppliers like Booking.com.For booking a hostel your best bet is to start with HostelWorld or possible even use CouchSurfing if you’re on a real budget.
Don’t Forget Travel Insurance
Travel Insurance is a must these days so you have a piece of mind you’re covered for anything that could go wrong while on your trip. I now never go on a trip away without travel insurance. I’ve been using World Nomads for the past few years.
My favourite companies that offer the best service and value are:
- World Nomads (little more expensive but covers everything)
- SafetyWing (cheaper option to just cover you for health issues)
Looking for the best companies to save money with?
As I have been travelling frequently over the last few years I’ve learnt some great tools to use for saving money when travelling. I have a travel resource page that lists all the trusted companies I personally use and rely on. I think you will find them good as well.
I also have a couple of great blogs that share quick and easy ways to save money on flights or accommodation. Take a look and save some cash on your next trip.
The Best Place To Book Your Tours
If you are someone you likes to have the best tours in one place and read reviews from other travellers about their personal experiences of each different tour then the best platform to use is GetYourGuide.
They offer the best tours, have money-back offers in case your trip is cancelled and ensure the price of each tour is the lowest possible.
