Traveling Guide to New South Wales
New South Wales is arguably the most visited state of Australia and one that both domestic and international tourists enjoy exploring. The capital city of Sydney is often mistakenly called the capital city of Australia but that is, in fact, not correct. Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory is the capital of Australia but one that is often missed by most visitors to Australia.
Things to do in New South Wales is a long and exciting list. Spending a few days in Sydney is a must as visiting the Sydney Opera House, Bondi Beach and climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge should be on your Australia travel itinerary. Other bucket list items to do near Sydney include taking a boat trip to Manly, visiting the Hunter Valley wine region, going game fishing off Sydney Harbour and getting a birds-eye view of the city from the Observation Deck.
Popular cities to visit in New South Wales aside from Sydney are Byron Bay, Newcastle, Wollongong, Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie. There are also plenty of activites to do across these locations as well. Aim to spend a few relaxed days in Byron Bay and possibly try surfing for the first time, visit the Blue Mountains National Park and even time your trip to watch one of the most famous car races in the world, The Bathurst 1000.
