Travel Guide to Ireland
For me, Ireland is one of my favourite destinations in Europe and I think that is mainly because it reminds me a lot of Tasmania, the place I grew up in Australia. The weather is similar, the wide-open green farming paddocks and small country towns are familiar and the friendly local hospitality is exactly the same. These three things accompanied with beautiful scenery and untouched nature really make Ireland a bucket list destination in Europe, at least in my opinion.
Charming small cities and towns are found right across Ireland and the most popular locations to include on a road trip of Ireland are Dublin, Galway, Cork, Limerick, Sligo and if we include Northern Ireland as well then the city of Belfast should also be included. Busses also connect between each of these areas frequently is hiring your own car is not something you wish to do.
The capital city of Dublin has plenty of things to do and will keep any visitor busy for multiple days without a problem. Popular attractions in Dublin include tasting a refreshing beer and touring the Guinness Storehouse Factory, visiting iconic buildings such as St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin Castle and Christ Church Cathedral, partying in The Temple Bar district or enjoying a meal of fish and chips at the legendary Leo Burdocks venue.
If exploring more than just the capital city while in Ireland be sure to include a trip to the Wicklow Mountains, visit the most famous attraction in Ireland the Cliffs Of Moher, take in the views of Connemara National Park just outside of Galway, The Rock of Cashel and the UNESCO listed site of The Giant’s Causeway located in Northern Ireland.
Below are travel tips, hacks, advice and adventure stories that will ensure you are ready to travel any destination in Ireland.
