Iceland travel tips and guide

Traveling Guide to Iceland

Iceland is a country like very few I have witnessed before. It has natural beauty wrapped around every corner of the island and discovering this is just pure fun and adventure. The capital city of Reykjavik is a small but lively destination that can be used as your base while exploring nearby locations on day trips or you can simply hire a car and plan an epic road trip around the country.

Locations that should be visited when planning your road trip around Iceland include the small town of Vik where you will see the ocean meet snow and black sand beaches, Reynisdrangar stacks, Hofn, Svínafellsjökull Glacier, Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, the Golden Circle where you can see the Geysers and Gullfoss Waterfall and Kerid Crater. If hiring a car and driving doesn’t sound like your idea of a relaxing holiday then day tours or multi-day tours can also be organised with leading travel companies.

Popular things to do while in Iceland are to visit the famous Blue Lagoon and enjoy half a day of relaxing in therapeutic waters while being surrounded by snow-capped scenery (and unfortunately many tourists), go on a whale-watching boat tour, hike on a glacier and explore ice caves, ride a snowmobile, witnessing the sky changing colour with the Northern Lights and going horseback riding.

Below are travel tips, hacks, advice and adventure stories that will ensure you are ready to travel any destination in Iceland.
