Australia remains one of the top tourist destinations in the world, and it’s not hard to imagine why that might be the case. It is, after all, an incredibly diverse and beautiful place, and the kind of place that most people will find something to cater for them easily enough. If you are thinking about visiting Australia, but you are not sure where to begin, then read on as I list some of the best Aussie destinations.
In this article, I’m going to try and make that decision a little easier for you by simply focusing on some of the best, top Aussie destinations which you might want to consider. As long as you are considering these, you should find that it is likely you can find an Australian spot to spend some time and while away the hours in no time.
The truth is that tourists who have never been to Australia will often forget about the island to the south, Tasmania. However, it’s one of the true highlights, and you should absolutely consider it essential if you are hoping to make the most of your trip down under. Tasmania is almost like a country in itself, with a specific culture and even a variance of wildlife and their habitat. But it is still markedly Australian, and you can expect to still pretty much feel like you are in Australia. One of the main reasons to visit Australia is for the seafood, and Tasmania is one of the best places in Australia for that, with restaurants like the Barilla Bay Restaurant being particularly notable for their stunning seafood selection. Tasmania’s a great place to just chill and lay back.
Tasmania is my home town so I am probably going to be a little biased when it comes to this amazing and underrated part of the country but I encourage you to see the rest of my Tasmanian blogs and see for yourself.
If you do indeed find yourself in Tasmania and would like some local advice just comment in the section below or send me an email.
Sydney is what most people will think of when they think of Australia, and it is a kind of cultural capital in that way. There is so much going on there that you will find it impossible to get bored, and in particular, it’s a great place for anyone who wants to have a bit of nightlife and high life combined. The city of New South Wales is also home to the world’s most famous beach, Bondi, and you can expect to see the traditional surfer vibe going out strong here. Again, it’s also an amazing spot to eat, with not just seafood but pizzerias and plenty of other options besides them to choose from. It’s an amazing place you really should think about visiting if you are in this part of the world.
Another major city that most people think about when visiting Australia is, of course, Melbourne, and you should think about this if you want to get a slightly different experience to the Sydney side of things. Although also a busy city, Melbourne, Victoria is considerably more relaxed than Sydney, and it is known for its laid back and artier vibe. If that is something that suits you, then you should make sure that you find time for Melbourne when you visit Australia. You won’t regret it, and you will find you have a lot of fun there.
If you are looking for a great hotel option in the perfect location for your next Melbourne holiday jump over to this review on Arrow on Spencer. I’m confident you this place will exceed all your expectations while being kind to your wallet.
Organise Your Trip: Travel Advice and Tricks I Personally Use
Book Your Flight
Heading to either Skyscanner or Momondo are my methods of choice for this. They are my favourite as they search for flights from different companies all over the world. You can filter the results to suit your needs and ensure you land the best price every-time.
Book Your Accommodation
This is an important part of any holiday you’re going on. Read all the reviews and get the right accommodation via TripAdvisor. They even show you the best prices available at the time for that room from suppliers like Booking.com.For booking a hostel your best bet is to start with HostelWorld or possible even use CouchSurfing if you’re on a real budget.
Don’t Forget Travel Insurance
Travel Insurance is a must these days so you have a piece of mind you’re covered for anything that could go wrong while on your trip. I now never go on a trip away without travel insurance. I’ve been using World Nomads for the past few years.
My favourite companies that offer the best service and value are:
- World Nomads (little more expensive but covers everything)
- SafetyWing (cheaper option to just cover you for health issues)
Looking for the best companies to save money with?
As I have been travelling frequently over the last few years I’ve learnt some great tools to use for saving money when travelling. I have a travel resource page that lists all the trusted companies I personally use and rely on. I think you will find them good as well.
The Best Place To Book Your Tours
If you are someone you likes to have the best tours in one place and read reviews from other travellers about their personal experiences of each different tour then the best platform to use is GetYourGuide.
They offer the best tours, have money-back offers in case your trip is cancelled and ensure the price of each tour is the lowest possible.
