Traveling Guide to Namibia
Namibia is known as the adventure country of Africa and any outdoor lover will find plenty of amazing things to do. Swakopmund is a coastal town in Namibia and one of the best places to do many of these outdoor activities as it is located between the South Atlantic Ocean and the Namib-Naukluft National Park. Things to do in Swakopmund include fishing trips, sky diving, quad bike riding on the sand dunes and much more.
Namibia is a world leader in environmental protection and as such has a healthy way of life in the country. The low population rate for a country of its size also helps in this cause. In fact, it is the second least populated country in the world. It has a total of around 2.5 million people and 13 different ethnic groups. The official language of Namibia is English although only 1% of the population speak it as their first language.
Must-visit destinations in Namibia include the second largest canyon in the world, Fish River Canyon. Second only behind the famous Grand Canyon in the United States. Other locations of interest in Namibia include the famous Dune 7, the highest sand dune in the world, Sossusvlei and the dead tree forest, complete an African safari at Etosha National Park and get a tourist photo at the Tropic of Capricorn sign.
